Hello, everyone!

I’m Chani who is going to start a new musical instrument! I started ukulele about 4 years ago, but I’m tired of it… Actually, I’m very easy to lose interest. when I try something and go into something, its Ok. But I’ll be lose interest quickly. It feels like wide and shallow if imaging my personality . Musical instruments contribute to improving language skills because they improve cognitive prevention and ability to understand sounds in a variety of ways, and I recommend challenging them once in a lifetime because I think it’s good for a hobby. Ok, Let’s move on to today’s theme!

Do you have confidence? Confidence refers to your ability, personality, and more essentially your existence itself. In my opinion, fewer people have “confidence” at a high level. Because as long as you’re human, you all have inner things like complex and fear. I think there are a lot of people who even don’t know the meaning of “confidence.” So this time, I’m going to write down what “confidence” means and how “confidence” can be enhanced.

Then, we are going to learn English from presentation titled 3 tips to boost your confidence by Amy Adkins. Here we go !!

If you face a big problem, what do you often hear from people? Be confidence, right?? How is confidence made? This video explains like this.

Three parts which make confidence

Internal : Things as you were born

This is the inner thing that we are born with, like genes, personalities, and constitution that affect the balance of neuro-chemicals in the brain. Internal factors have a great impact on our daily lives and are essential to the formation of identity. (Identity is a personality about you. Example: Name, face, thoughts, etc. Having an identity is the most important thing in having confidence. I will post the explanation on identity later!

External : How you are treated

This is social and external environment surrounding you. For example, the environment in which you were born and raised, your job-place, your interpersonal relationships, and all the other parties involved are included. Thinking patterns and values include our innate inner, but are shaped by our natural environment, parents, friends, and teachers.

How you think about and respond to challenges and setbacks

This refers to the individual choices you choose and the perception of how you deal with difficulties. I mentioned above that internal and external factors form personality, thoughts, and identity. This is the result of the effect. Thoughts are important enough to determine your life. Because the idea determines your behavior or choice and it’ll be you.

I think this shows where your “confidence” comes from. Next, I will specify how to increase your confidence!

3 ways to boost your confidence

A quick fix : Picture positively

If you encounter a difficult problem, try to picture about after you solve it. For example, if you solve the problem, what kind of rewards would be able to get, what kind of rewards would you give yourself, and who can be recognized by. If you’re worried about the problems ahead of your’s, first image the accomplishment and satisfaction positively you’re waiting for!

And not only that, but also a powerful pose can increase your “confidence.” (It’s also been demonstrated in psychological experiments. I’ll post a explanation on this later, too!

Believe in your ability to improve.

First, consider your ability or talent. If you consider it enough, strongly believe in that belief. Believe in the possibilities and power you have. Even if you have a challenge that is far from your ability or talent, you continue to have the belief that “you can do it.” Because that belief becomes your learning, and you grow before than you were.

Neuroscience also supports growth thinking with strong connections in the brain through research and practice. Growth-oriented people have also been shown to be more successful in achieving better results even you face challenges.

Practice failure face it

Do you think many great people have succeeded without making mistakes? No, they were acting more than we are, and they were failing more. Some studies show that, no matter how often you fail, a person who continues to work will learn how to try different strategies for challenge or frustration, seek advice from others, be patient, and be able to respond in a constructive way. Let’s succeed in making mistakes. Failure is a must before success. In the process, what you can learn will be a more realistic and most reliable experience than what you can learn when you succeed, and it will be your confidence.

What is confidence

I explained how confidence formed and raised. To define “confidence” based on the above information, confidence is to believe firmly in yourself with the belief that you are worth while, valuable and capable.

With that belief, when you take courage and take on challenges, you can have a weapon for solving difficult problems.

This belief also makes us feel excited that we can translate thinking into action and gain more knowledge and understanding no matter what the outcome is.

That’s confidence.

In the last

Could you understand vaguely the meaning of “Confidence”?
I’ve read a lot of these articles and documents because I specialize in psychology, but I chose this because this TED video was short and concise and was describing in animation format.

I mentioned identity briefly this time, so I’ll explain a little bit about it. I think the more people with having identity, the more confident they have. Because they understand themselves well. For example, who are you and what do you want to do?

What do you know about yourself? Do you think you know yourself best? Why? What do you really want?

I asked you suddenly, but there are three answers to this question.
①Can’t answer
②Can answer right away.
③Consider

Most people who answered ① and ② don’t know themselves very well in the real sense. Do you know why ① is it ? Because they never thought about it. ② can be found why it is not good by asking questions or digging into. There are many cases that the answer is ambiguous or a case of copying someone or deceiving yourself.

I personally think ③ is the most appropriate. Because identity is fundamentally fixed, but there is something part of it changes fluidly. For example, your desires will not be the same as when you were young. People who wanted to be police officers when they were young but want to become psychology professors as adults may have a process of changing their desires.

You have to think about yourself and know yourself. Let’s make an effort to do so. If you don’t know, let’s ask for help. People are too weak by alone. I think it is also the essence of human-kind. Requesting help is a sign that you can recognize yourself and do what you want. And you get to know yourself by getting help from others. So you can answer questions from yourself. That leads to confidence, and becoming “you”!

It’s a little longer to describe.
